This course, Game Prototype Studio, is a course in which I and fellow classmates had to make a game prototype each week. Each game is to be made with three requirements attached to it: the game engine/tool, the main mechanic of the game, and the main theme of the game.

"Cat-astrophe" is a game where the tool to make it is Bitsy, the mechanic is achievements (for player actions), and the theme was "risk and reward". I had a great time making this game. The game is simple because the only thing you need to do is choose which cat is the real cat, or suffer the consequences, which summarizes risk and reward in a simple way. Since the game's scope was pretty small, so it allowed me to focus on what I really needed to do - make a funny game. I was able to write funny achievements and dialogue. I could also focus on things such as animations. While the animation in Bitsy is simple, it allowed me to animate pixel-art, which is something I had never done before! It helped me to learn the main principles behind pixel animation.

Translation for cats:

"Meow meow meow meow meow. Meow meow, meow meow meow meow! Meow meow meow, meow meow meow meow!"

A game made at Azusa Pacific University.
